Welcome/The house manual
We're getting Sabai ready for you.
Your stay is booked, and everything about the apartment lives on this page. Have a browse before you travel; it will all be here whenever you need it, and your unique door code follows on the day you arrive.
You made it. Make yourself at home.
Breathe out: you are at Sabai now. Some chilled drinks and a few breakfast bits are waiting in the fridge, the terraces are yours, and everything you might wonder about during your stay is right here.
- Keypad entry
- The Nuki keypad is on the right hand wall between the Flyscreen and the door. Just pull the Flyscreen to open and access the keypad, remember to close the Flyscreen on entry and exit.
- The Ring doorbell camera
- The Ring doorbell at the front door is there for security and has its microphone disabled, so it never listens. Once inside, if you would rather it is completely disabled, press the clearly marked “Ring” switch in the hallway: the light around the doorbell goes off and the Ring doorbell and camera will remain off for the rest of your stay. We would just gently ask that you switch it back on when you leave.
- Wi-Fi
- Network SabaiPafos - The password is displayed from the QR code and on the TV. It reaches both outside terraces and you should achieve approximately 200 megs download speed.
- Door locks
- Sabai has a keyless system, make a note of your unique door code. The front door locks automatically when it is closed. To double lock the front door from the inside just check the door is closed properly then press the circular button on the Nuki lock. You will hear the lock turn and a circle illuminate. To unlock just press the button again. To double lock the front door from the outside check the door is properly closed then just press the back arrow on the Nuki keypad. The rear patio doors and windows have manual sliding locks that push up and down.
- Bedroom patio door
- The bedroom patio door has a total of 4 locking mechanisms. 1 and 2 - The handle on the left has an upper lock (up to unlock) and lower lock (down to unlock) 3 - A central slider in between 1 and 2 which moves down to unlock. 4 - A locking pin on the right hand side of the door frame which is pulled out to unlock. The door is completely secure using just mechanisms 1 and 2.
- Presence sensors
- There are presence sensors in the living room and bedroom, these are not cameras of any kind and are only used to ensure air conditioning or heating is not running if a room remains unoccupied for some time. They do not record any images or any kind of activity.
- Heating & cooling
- The air conditioning is set between a comfortable 20 and 26°C, with 23°C our happy middle. No need to switch it off when you pop out: the room senses when it is empty, and the windows pause it when they are open.
- The welcome fridge
- You'll find a small welcome in the fridge: two chilled bottles of our filtered, remineralised water, and whenever we can, some fizzy water and soft drinks. In the door compartment there is usually milk, portioned butter, jams and honey. We also try and provide a few snacks. It is all complimentary, so help yourself. What's waiting varies a little from stay to stay, but the chilled water is always there: feel free to keep the bottles topped up from the tap.
- Kitchen
- Everything you need to cook is here. Filtered remineralised drinking water is free flowing from the left tap at the sink, so no need to buy bottled. Tea, filter coffee, basic condiments such as olive oil are available for you to use.
- Food and grocery delivery services
- Foody and Wolt deliver to Sabai which is marked on Google Maps inside the Faros Beach Apartments complex, both are available on the iOS and Android app stores. AlphaMega Aphrodite is a large supermarket close by and offers a grocery delivery service through Foody. Perfect for those essentials or must-haves shortly after you arrive or ready for the morning.
- Televisions
- The living room television is a 55" smart TV with the microphone disabled. The bedroom television uses an Amazon Firestick and automatically logs into a Sabai Amazon account which has been setup for your convenience - If you prefer you can login to your own Amazon account there if you have one. On both televisions you can choose from basic streaming services by logging into your own accounts like Netflix, Apple TV and YouTube. Please remember to logout of these accounts before you checkout.
- TV Casting or Mirroring
- Cast from your phone, or sign into your own accounts. Please sign out again before you leave so the next guest starts fresh. Our automated system should do this for you, but it's a good idea to do it yourself if you do remember.
- In-room safe
- There is a laptop-sized safe in the bedroom, big enough for a laptop up to 15 inches, for passports, cash and anything you would rather lock away. The code was sent to you before check-in.
- Poolside and dining terrace
- The poolside terrace gets a lot of early morning sun. The umbrella there will tilt so you can enjoy the space with shade if you prefer.
- Seaview and sunset terrace
- The terrace is south facing, you can enjoy some afternoon sunshine there and the golden hour before sunset. The umbrella mount is at the rear of the terrace and the umbrella tilts if you prefer shade later in the day. Please close the umbrella in strong wind or rain. Sun loungers are stored under the bed.
- Sun Loungers
- There are 2 sun loungers available which are normally stored under the bed. Please ensure sun loungers are not left on the communal areas when not in use.
- Waste & recycling
- The bin is in the cupboard under the kitchen sink. The communal bins are at the entrance gates. Please do not place bags outside the bins, and make sure they are closed properly. We do not have dedicated recycling bins at complex level at the moment.
- Washing Machine
- The washing machine has some very long cycles and unfortunately these are not clearly marked. A general 60 minute wash is indicated as Fast 60' which we use all the time. Please make sure the door is firmly closed and the lock has engaged correctly to start the cycle. If you have any issues in the first instance please switch the power to the washing machine off at the switch to the left of the microwave for 30 seconds then switch it on and try again. For larger loads there is a full service laundrette a 5 minute walk away close to O'Neils at the top of the street towards the main road.
- Essentials and Groceries
- The Kefalos beach village gift shop by the entrance to the hotel is a short 5 minute walk away towards the sea and stocks essentials and some perishables including milk and bags of ice. There is also a Kiosk at the top of the street directly opposite the front of Sabai, again accessible in under 5 minutes.
- Patio Furniture
- There is additional seating for the rear Seaview terrace available which slides out of the sides of the rattan set. There are additional stools stored inside the table. Cushions are stored in the wardrobe. Extra cushions for these pieces are under the chairs and stools. Please bring the cushions inside at the evenings and when not in use.
- Patio Umbrellas
- There is a patio umbrella available for each patio (front and rear) and these can be tilted to provide effective shade. Please ensure these are wound down during any wind to prevent injury to yourself or damage to any property. Please store these inside overnight or during high wind or rain.
- Checking out
- By 11am, please. Windows and patio door closed, air conditioning off, and just pull the door to behind you: the smart lock does the rest. Nothing else to do.
- Electricity power cuts
- Power cuts in Cyprus are rare but they do happen and power is usually restored in a few seconds or just a couple of minutes. Routers and everything in the apartment should reboot and reconnect automatically.
- Earthquakes
- Earthquakes are not common but if you experience one you should leave the apartment immediately and go to the communal area away from buildings or close to the pool.
- If something's wrong
- Message us first, we can usually sort it quickly. In an emergency, dial 112. The nearest pharmacy is on Tombs of the Kings, a 10 minute walk either left or right from the top of the street. There's a fire extinguisher in the kitchen by the router. There is a small first aid kit inside the bottom kitchen drawer. There is an emergency torch in the bedside drawer.
Good to know/Faros Beach
Around the complex.
Sabai sits inside Faros Beach, a residential complex with neighbours who live here year round. A few shared-space rules the owners ask us to pass on, kept short.
- The pool
- Current pool opening hours are displayed on the pool notice board. Please shower before you get in, wear proper swimwear, and keep glass away from the water, so plastic or acrylic only. Please, no diving from the edge or going onto, climbing or hanging from the bridge, and under-10s need an adult with them at all times. Holiday and short-term guests are very welcome to use the pool during their stay. Use extends only to the people staying in the apartment: a short-term booking does not carry any right to invite friends, day visitors or other outsiders to the pool, and no such person is authorised to be there. These regulations all reflect the pool’s status as a private Type 3 pool under the Swimming Pool Law of 2025.
- Peace & quiet
- Faros Beach is a residential apartment complex, so please keep noise gentle in the communal areas, stairways, gardens and around the pool. Personal speakers should not be used, especially early mornings and late evenings. Music and TV should be at a level that stays inside the apartment.
- Patios & gardens
- Please do not hang towels or laundry over the patio railings or any balconies and please keep the patios clear and tidy. Please do not place any clothes dryers or maidens on any of the communal areas. The complex has planted raised gardens and beds with automatic irrigation systems that can easily be damaged if accidentally knocked so please keep off these areas and the planting and help little ones do the same.
- Rubbish
- Bag rubbish securely before it goes in the communal bins by the entrance. Please don't leave bags outside the apartment, in the communal areas or beside the bins.
- Parking & access
- Please park on the street where there is ample free parking and keep the drop-off area clear for loading and unloading so deliveries, neighbours and emergency access can always get through. There is free off street parking close to the Kefalos Beach Village and Elysium Hotel.
- Stray Cats
- Please do not feed stray cats anywhere around Sabai or on the complex. Local street cats are well cared for at key locations and feeding areas can be found close to the junction of the coastal path and Elysium hotel where there is also a cat hotel. Take a look.
Your unique Nuki entry code is sent privately the day of check-in. For your security it is never stored on this page and is deactivated and deleted automatically when you checkout.
